Pittsburgh Dynamo Youth Soccer is pleased to sponsor a series of recreational soccer clinics for women over 30 who would like to learn how to play soccer or improve their soccer skills. By sponsoring these clinics, Dynamo hopes to encourage more women to get involved in youth soccer as coaches and referees, and even just kicking a ball around with their kids. If you over over 30 and have little or no adult soccer experience, then Dynamoms may be for you! Absolute beginners are welcome. And you don't actually have to be a mom. Come learn how to play soccer safely, get some exercise, and have fun! Since Fall 2013, Dynamoms has run fall and spring outdoor clinics and winter indoor clinics.

Dynamoms was featured in a July 2021,  CMU Piper article, a  May 21, 2014 Pittsburgh Tribune-Review article and in a Fall 2014 Shady Ave magazine article.

Dynamoms clinics are taught by experienced soccer coaches. These 90-minute sessions are designed to help participants learn and practice basic soccer skills and rules of play. We also do cardio exercises and stretching to promote fitness. We spend the first half of each clinic on skills development. We play scrimmages during the second half of each clinic to practice skills and rules of play in real game scenarios. We start with the basics every season, so even if you have never played soccer, we encourage you to sign up!

Dynamoms participants should wear shin guards with soccer socks, athletic shoes or soccer cleats (outdoors only), and comfortable clothes. Any comfortable athletic shoes will do, but many of our members prefer turf cleats (for example, the Adidas Mundial Team Turf Soccer Cleat is available from online retailers and is very popular).  Please do not wear any jewelry. Bring a water bottle and a size 5 soccer ball. We play our winter indoor season on a wooden gym floor, so wear gym shoes, running shoes, or soccer shoes designed for indoor surfaces (no cleats).

Dynamoms Pickup Soccer

We love playing soccer, even when it is snowing and we all have to wear masks and stay 6 feet apart due to COVID. If you would like to join us for some friendly pick-up soccer at Schenley Oval (usually on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings or afternoons), please email [email protected] and ask to be added to our pickup email list.

Fall 2021 season is over... stay tuned for our Spring 2022 season !

Our spring 2022 season will likely start in March or April. Here is info about our last season:

Our fall 2021 season is happening Saturdays 2-3:30pm on the  Schenley Oval turf from September 4 through November 13 (skipping October 2 due to soccer camp)!
We will have 90-minute educational clinics led by coaches in which we will first warm up and spend time on skills exercises and then scrimmage. We do not offer partial registrations, but we understand that you may have to skip some sessions.  We will play in light rain but will cancel if there is heavy rain or lightning.

To register, login to your account (or create a new account) and click the registration button. The registration fee is $120. We are not ordering new shirts,  this season, but we do have some shirts still available so email [email protected] if you would like to purchase a shirt.

Save the date for Dynamoms soccer camp April 28-May 1, 2022!

We had a great time at Soccer Camp 2.0: Fitness and Chill edition. Save the date for future Dynamoms soccer camps: April 28-May 1, 2022 and Sept 22-25, 2022!

Here is what our last soccer camp was like:

Thursday, Sept. 30 to 12 noon, Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021

·         Arrive 6 p.m., Thursday night to settle in. BYOB drinks!

·         Games/drills Friday and Saturday with a morning final Sunday.

·         $300 per person, including all meals, lodging and coaching/games (no t-shirt this time).

Soccer Camp is back! This time we’re going to gorgeous Camp Soles, a family-run camp ground in Rockwood, PA (near Somerset/Ohiopyle) approximately 75 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh. We’ll be staying in well-maintained cabins each with their own bathroom and brand-new showers in the lodge a few steps away. Each cabin sleeps six to eight people.  There is a large, beautiful field, an historic lodge/mess hall and many other amenities, including a gorgeous lake, a climbing wall, hiking trails, paddleboards and a covered outdoor area with a projector screen perfect for watching classic women’s soccer games. Check out the photo album here.

Register here at Dynamo Soccer by Sept. 3, 2021.

So why is this the Fitness and Chill edition? It’s because this camp is nice enough to invite non-footy friends to come just to chill by the lake, read a book and hike during our games. Then, we can all convene in the evening for healthy meals by Camp Soles Chef Juliann and then drink wine around the camp fire. Locally sourced and delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the $300 pp price. We’ll be updating you all on other potential daytime activities run by the Camp Soles staff.

First of all, fun! Also, friendship and camaraderie, lots of great workouts and skills/drills and some friendly competition, all in the Dynamoms spirit of sisterhood cheering for everyone’s wins and joyful play. This weekend is about YOU, so no kids are permitted. You can check out photos from Soccer Camp 1.0 here.

COVID protocols: Please make sure that you’re fully vaccinated for your own safety and the safety of others. We will be in lovely cabins that each sleep six to eight people, but we'll plan to keep them at no more than 50% capacity. Being fully vaccinated is imperative for the health of everyone at camp, especially your bunkies. The staff at Camp Soles are all fully vaccinated.

As always, we work to keep costs to a minimum so that as many people as possible can come out to play and have fun. We need 25 players to break even. Once we hit that number, we’ll be able to add additional fun and surprises to this women’s only fitness and chill footy weekend!
