General Information
Dynamo Travel Commission has adopted Travel Tryout and Team Formation Policies with information about our process.
The Travel Info page (scroll down!) and the Travel FAQ page have information about the travel program helpful for new families and players.
Registration information
- Registration includes player info (name, age, grade in Fall), parent/guardian info (name, contact info), and team info for those currently on a recreation ortravel team. No fee is assessed for tryouts.
- Players registered prior to May 27 will receive automated messages regarding tryouts and logistics. Those registering later may not receive those messages, but your player should still come to their scheduled tryout session as listed below.
Getting ready for tryouts
- Players should wear weather-appropriate soccer-playing clothing, shin guards, and cleats or tennis shoes.
- Players should bring a ball with your name on it and sufficient water in a labeled bottle.
- Tryouts will be held in rain, but not in thunder or lightning. We monitor the weather and will send updates via email to all registered participants only if we need to cancel by ~5:45 or so. If you don’t get an email, assume tryouts are proceeding.
Tryout Day Logistics
- Player check in 6:15p-6:30p, warm up 6:20p-6:30p, tryout 6:30p - ~8:00p.
- Player check-in will be in the gazebo between the tennis courts starting at 6:15p. At check-in, players will receive a pinnie and bib number.
- After check-in, players and parents can wait by the trees near the corner of the tennis courts/shed. Players should find another player to kick around a ball to warm up.
- Tryout staff will gather players to walk over to the fields. Players should bring their ball and water bottle with them. We may need to reallocate pinnies to even out numbers.
- Parents should remain near the tennis courts and away from the fields. Parents should not interact with their child during the tryout. We know you want to support them, but allow them to focus on the instructions and show us their skills.
Tryout Format and Schedule
Players in birth years 2017, 2016, 2015, and 2014
Players at these younger years will have an organized tryout consisting of skills assessment, drills, and scrimmages. All players, existing team members and new players, will participate in these tryouts.
Players at these younger years have a primary date where all players in that age/gender are encouraged to attend. All age/gender groups have an alternate date as well. You do not need to notify us if you are attending on the alternate date. New players should only attend one session.
Players in birth years 2013, 2012, and 2011
Players in these older years will attend a practice of an existing team. The tryout still consists of skills assessment, drills, and scrimmage but in a practice setting. All players, existing team members and new players, will participate in these tryouts.
Players in these older years have multiple sessions listed. New players need only attend one session. You do not need to notify us as to which session you are attending. Just check in at the gazebo.

Post-Tryout Timeline
After tryouts, the commission and coaches review the results and discuss new team rosters. This takes time, with end of school activities and vacations interrupting our planning. Players invited to join a team will receive an email indicating that with an invitation to complete the second part of the registration process. Others will be notified via email if they did not make a team. Please be patient with us. We are an all volunteer organization, and welcome additional support.
