We Remember: Steve Beckmann

Dynamo Soccer is sad to announce the passing of one of our pioneers, Steve Beckmann.

Beckmann was a Dynamo parent, coach, and commissioner. East Enders will remember him from 'Pittsburgh Soccer and Sport', the store he and his wife operated in Squirrel Hill. He also served as a long-tenured commissioner and board member for PA West and the amateur adult soccer organizations that preceded it.

Mr. Beckmann was a member of the Moon Over-40 team that won the USASA National Championship in 1998.

We are grateful to Steve for his many contributions to Pittsburgh Dynamo. We offer condolences to his family and loved ones. And we know he would be proud of every youth player that laces up her or his cleats to play the beautiful game every week.

Steve played a small part in every goal Dynamo scores and every smile that match day brings.
